Motorsport · VR · landscape architecture — three fields that rarely meet. The research holds them together long enough to see what a track read as terrain, and terrain read at racing speed, can become.

Virtual reality is the bridge: it lets the felt experience of riding be captured, replayed and examined as spatial material rather than left as memory.

With only about three references in existence, there is almost no ground to stand on. So the work starts by building that ground up — establishing its own vocabulary, methods and points of comparison.

Creating references rather than citing them changes the posture of the work: it is less a survey of a field than the first marks on an empty map.

The proposal grows from the road — the roads wandered while riding. The experiential landscape is read out of motion, line and pace rather than drawn from a static plan.

What the rider feels — camber, sightline, rhythm — is translated into landscape terms, proposing a new way to design and read space from inside the experience of speed.
